Welcome to Iron Catching
Wisconsin's Premier Catching and Baseball Training

Relationships
I build real relationships with my athletes — not just to make them better catchers, but to help them become tougher, smarter, and more confident leaders on and off the field.

 StructureÂ
I coach through structure, not guesswork. Every athlete I work with gets a clear system — from movement to mindset — built to develop complete, game-ready catchers with purpose behind every rep.
Coaching
I don’t just coach reps — I coach people. My style is direct, detailed, and honest. I’ll push you when you need it, support you when it’s hard, and hold the standard when no one else will.
Who is Coach Steve?
Steve Diderrich Jr. is the owner of Iron Catching and catching coach with experience at the youth, college, and professional levels.
He’s coached MLB players, D1 commits, and high school athletes around the country — all with the same mission: build complete catchers who move with purpose, lead with confidence, and train with intent.
His coaching journey started after battling through injuries as a player — including a torn labrum and torn bicep — that led him from being behind the plate to helping others stay there. Those setbacks sparked a passion for detail, movement, and the mental side of catching that now shapes everything inside Iron Catching.
Today, Steve coaches with a deep understanding of what it takes — physically and mentally — to succeed behind the plate. He leads catchers through structured systems, holds a high standard, and brings the same energy to a pro as he does to a 13-year-old trying to earn a spot.
